Analytical and technical consultation
The analysis team at the OSRAM Environmental Simulation Laboratory offers exceptional support in problem solving, error analysis and product approvals. It relies on a selection of instruments and scientific techniques for material analysis. Our analytical services are used throughout the industrial value chain:
Deep-sharp pictures
When the object stage is moved in the XY direction, the system automatically performs a motion along the Z axis and captures 50 frames at different focus positions in no time. From these stack of images, the focused pictures are automatically extracted in a matter of seconds, and the result is a deep-sharp image.
When acquiring a deep-focus image, the focus position information is also analyzed. This information generates a highly accurate 3D modeling of the surface. This 3D image comes very close to the actual target, allowing it to check for any irregularities that might not be visible on a photo.
High-resolution HDR with 16-bit resolution
Thanks to High Dynamic Range technology (HDR), the microscope can deliver a high-resolution image using light of a single wavelength: The HDR function captures multiple images with fine color gradation at different exposure times, which are then combined into a single image. High-resolution imaging uses light of a single wavelength, revealing phenomena that may not be visible under white light.
The use of advanced digital image processing and pixel shifting enables accurate imaging of the measured objects. After acquiring multiple images with different brightness, the data is summarized with fine color gradation into a single image.
This is useful to avoid overexposure or underexposure and to clearly detect specimens which otherwise could cause halation, or low-contrast specimens.
