HXP lamps are short arc lamps in which the discharge arc burns in an atmosphere of mercury vapour at very high pressure. Compared to HBO lamps they show two fundamental differences: They are operated at a substantially higher pressure and they employ halogen cycle. They are designed exclusively for AC operation. HXP lamps are offered exclusively with an integrated elliptical reflector.
Features and Benefits
HXP lamps generate UV and visible light, including significant portion of red light. Owing to the short arc and elliptical reflector they provide an efficient light coupling into light guide systems. The tungsten halogen cycle renders average lifetimes in the range of 2,000 hrs possible.
